Privacy Policy

Draft under legal review. Final terms will be posted here before we accept real repairs.

The short version: we collect only what we need to repair and ship your device. We don't look through your personal content. We don't sell your information, and we don't use photos of your device for marketing unless you say yes.

Data on your device

• We don't open, copy, or browse your photos, messages, files, or accounts. We only touch what the repair and the tests need, such as the camera, display, touch, audio, charging, and storage health checks.
• We may see what's on the screen while testing. We don't record your personal content. If our check-in photos show the screen, we take them at a lock screen or a test screen when we can.
• Passcodes are stored only on the ticket, used only for testing, and deleted when the ticket closes. Change your passcode after you get the device back if you'd like.
• If a repair requires wiping the device, we tell you first, unless you've already agreed to that in the quote.
• If we come across content that appears illegal (for example, child sexual abuse material), the law may require us to report it, and we will.

Photos of your device

• Device photos are used only for your ticket: quoting, check-in, the repair record, warranty claims, and disputes.
• We'll only use them for marketing (on the website or social media, for example) if you opt in with a separate checkbox. Even then, we remove serial numbers, IMEIs, addresses, and anything personal on the screen. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Who we share with

Only the providers we need to run the service: Stripe (payments), EasyPost (shipping labels), Cloudflare (website hosting, photo storage and email), and the parts supplier (it gets only the part order; for drop-ship orders it may also get a ship-to address). We also share information when the law requires it, for example with law enforcement for stolen devices. We don't sell or rent personal information.

How long we keep it

• Ticket photos and videos: 1 year after the ticket closes, or until any warranty claim or dispute is resolved, whichever is later
• Invoices, approvals, and tax records: as long as required for New York sales tax and IRS records (generally at least 3 years, up to 7)
• Passcodes: deleted when the ticket closes

Security

Access is limited to Harry. The admin page is protected by individual password logins, and photos are stored in private storage. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by New York's SHIELD Act.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it. We'll delete whatever we aren't legally required to keep, such as tax records. Email repairs@hcs-cs.com.

Children

This service is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Cookies and advertising analytics

Our public pages load the Google Ads tag (Google tag / gtag.js). It sets cookies and sends Google information such as the pages you visit, your browser and device, your approximate location from your IP address, and the ad you clicked to reach us. We use it to measure whether our ads lead to repair requests and payments. When you complete a payment, we tell Google the order amount and your ticket code, never your name, email, phone, address or device details. Our admin pages don't load the tag. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, use an ad or tracker blocker, or control ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. Google's use of this data is covered by its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Our site itself uses no other tracking cookies.
